King James in the United States, 1612-1900, used a lottery to help the settlers. Lottery tickets played a huge role in financing libraries, roads, churches, and colleges.

President Benjamin Franklin used lottery money to purchase cannons. Lottery hit German soil in 1614. Germany offered a ‘pick 6 out of 49’ game. In 1874, the first lottery in Thailand was based on a kings birthday. 44 states and three territories operate state lottery in the United States.
